Job summary

Ameren Illinois is seeking a Distribution System Operating Supervisor I or II in Decatur, IL to lead field personnel in safe, cost‑effective operation of subtransmission and distribution systems and to restore service quickly after outages.

Key duties include analyzing complex anomalies, issuing switching orders, coordinating maintenance, training staff, and communicating with internal teams and customers to prioritize work and ensure reliable service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor of Science degree preferred; relevant experience acceptable in lieu.
• SO/PD II Test required.

Responsibilities

• Direct field personnel in operation of subtransmission and distribution systems to ensure safe, reliable service.
• Coordinate maintenance and restoration activities on distribution systems.
• Write and dispatch switching orders and maintain records.
• Restore outages safely and promptly after events or emergencies.
• Mentor and coach DSOS I staff; assist with training as needed.
• Communicate with internal teams and customers to manage workload and expectations.
