Job summary

CORE Electric Cooperative is seeking an engineer to support design, construction, and inspection of overhead and underground distribution facilities for new and upgraded projects. You will work with higher level staff, prepare staking documents, and coordinate with members, developers, and contractors.

The role emphasizes adherence to codes (NESC/NEC), safety, and financial tracking on projects, with opportunities to advance technical knowledge and impact reliability for Co-op members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree in related field or at least 5 years of industry experience.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Competent with position-specific software and applications.
• Competent with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develops knowledge of CORE policies, design standards, regulations, and construction standards.
• Performs engineering and inspections for new construction and upgrades.
• Prepares staking documents with drawings, calculations, costs, and material lists.
• Meets with members, builders, developers, and engineers to determine requirements.
• Inspects construction to ensure compliance with standards and NEC/NESC.
• Maintains financial control on projects.
• Coordinates installation of overhead and underground systems.
• Prepares project change orders and submits to customers timely.
