Job summary

Dominion Energy is offering a summer intern position in the Electric Distribution Design Department in Northern Virginia. You will design overhead and underground distribution systems, allocate materials, and estimate costs for construction and maintenance within assigned areas.

The role blends office work with field activities and requires active coordination with customers and internal teams. The successful intern will work under a supervisor/mentor, with up to 60% office and 40% field duties.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a 4-year or 2-year program.
• Graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.
• GPA 2.5 or greater.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Prepare cost estimates for construction and maintenance of subdivisions.
• Prepare joint use notifications and permits; coordinate right-of-way and easements.
• Assist in service restoration in the field during outages; travel 40% in the field.
