Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (Liberty) seeks an Electric Distribution Engineer to design and assist with electric distribution projects based on customer requests, complaints, and regulatory needs.

The role requires a BS in Engineering or related field, or an associates degree with 4+ years’ experience. Strong communication, regulatory knowledge, and ability to coordinate multiple tasks are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Associate degree plus 4 years relevant experience will be considered.
• Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to plan, schedule & coordinate multiple ongoing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform work independently, meet job requirements and deadlines.
• Coordinate with the Manager, Electric Engineering and monitor design work.
• Read and interpret one-line diagrams, site plans and load information.
• Analyze electrical distribution design problems and develop solutions.
• Progress Design Packages using Work Management Systems.
• Communicate with customers, municipal and regulatory representatives, and contractors.
