Qualifications

  • Graduate of a documented apprentice lineman training program approved by industry and verified by cities training program administrator.
  • Ten (10) years in utility distribution systems, five (5) of the ten (10) years as a journeyman lineman OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Has completed or will complete OSHA 10 training.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and safety procedures.
  • The use of the tools and equipment commonly used in the lineman trade.
  • Ability to supervise and assist in evaluating the work of subordinate personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field supervision over crew in safe installation, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead electric distribution.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and related equipment and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Be on-call on a rotating basis as required by the department.
  • Lead and direct staff, establish working relationships with management, coworkers, and the public.
