Role Mission

IDEA Electives teachers instruct students in a variety of subjects. Each IDEA campus offers different electives which may include Fine Arts, Agriculture, Health, and Technology Applications. All IDEA Elective teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college, while embodying IDEA’s values daily. Teachers set ambitious goals for student achievement, create a powerful learning environment, plan and deliver rigorous instruction, assess for mastery, track progress, analyze data to intervene and adjust instruction, and seek excellence as educators and team members.

Compensation

• Starting salary for 0 years of experience: $56,600. Eligible for stipends ($500-$4,000) based on certifications and credentials. Opportunities to earn up to $10,000 more through our Teacher Career Pathway. More details here.
• Additional hourly compensation for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

What You’ll Do — Responsibilities

• Participate in meetings, professional development, and additional duties like tutoring.
• Spend at least 40 hours weekly at school and embody IDEA’s core values.
