Job description

Position Overview:

The Election Technician supports all aspects of Election Technology Services operations, including ensuring voting equipment is prepared, delivered, returned, and accurately inventoried for each election. This entry-level position requires regular interaction with election officials and staff, providing accurate and timely assistance while maintaining accurate records and supporting the overall readiness of election technology and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares election equipment and supplies for upcoming elections.
  • Drives County vehicles to transport election equipment to designated locations.
  • Maintains accurate records using the required software applications.
  • Receives, inspects, and logs election equipment after each election cycle.
  • Helps maintain the assigned warehouse area to ensure it remains organized, clean, and safe.
  • Responds to staff inquiries by providing information or direction regarding the status of orders.
  • Operates standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and scanners.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and identify effective solutions as needed.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
  • Previous experience working in a team.
Licensure:
  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to work under stress and maintain high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work overtime without prior notification and work flexible hours as required.
  • Strong data accuracy and record-keeping skills.

  • Ability to drive 26 ft. box truck.
  • Forklift Operator's Certificate.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
  • Regular Full-time
  • Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
    • Overtime hours as required to include extended hours and weekends during election periods.
Salary:
  • $25.14 Hourly
  • Based on 26 Pay Periods
    • Plus, benefits
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Works in an office/warehouse environment with periodic travel to Vote Center locations for equipment delivery and retrieval.
  • Operates standard office and warehouse equipment, including computers, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures, dust, and loading dock conditions.
  • Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly; extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motion.
  • Requires close vision for inventory records and the ability to hear safety alarms and warning signals. Must follow all applicable safety protocols.

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
