Job summary

Utah County Elections is seeking dependable, detail-oriented Election Poll Workers to assist with operating vote centers and serving voters. This temporary/part-time role includes setting up equipment, checking in voters, explaining procedures, and ensuring security and accuracy of ballots.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a registered voter in Utah.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established election procedures.
• Ability to work accurately and maintain attention to detail.
• You cannot be related to any candidate appearing on the ballot at the polling place where you serve.

Responsibilities

• Set up voting equipment, ballots, signage, privacy areas, and other vote center materials.
• Check in voters and verify registration and eligibility according to established procedures.
• Provide voters with appropriate ballots and explain voting procedures and equipment without influencing voter choices.
• Protect ballot secrecy and voter privacy.
• Maintain an orderly and accessible voting environment.
• Follow election laws, policies, security requirements, and established procedures.
• Monitor voting equipment and supplies and report problems as needed.
• Provide permitted assistance to voters while maintaining voter independence and privacy.
• Reconcile ballots and voting records at the close of voting.
• Secure ballots, voting equipment, and other election materials at the end of the voting period.
