Job summary

Cobb County Government seeks a first-line supervisor for Election Day operations, overseeing poll workers and staff involved in federal, state, and county elections. You will recruit, train, and manage a team, coordinate training materials, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance with regulations.

You will also provide excellent voter assistance, resolve issues, maintain equipment and supply inventories, and prepare data analyses and reports to support election operations.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Public Administration or related field required; supplemented by five years of progressively responsible experience managing elections and voter registration including lead or supervisory experience.
• Experience in previous elections is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules; reviews timesheets; counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with performance appraisals.
• Provides customer service to voters; answers questions about voting; assists with online tools and escalates issues as needed.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains poll officials and temporary workers; creates training materials and schedules; oversees distribution of training materials.
• Designs training classes for poll workers using PowerPoint, video, online, and hands-on methods; coordinates staffing for 24+ facilitators; supervises seasonal staff.
• Maintains inventory of election equipment and supplies; inventories equipment after each election; tracks supplies needed for day-to-day work.
• Researches, compiles and reports on data pertaining to elections operations; performs routine data analysis; prepares reports and charts using templates.
• Processes documents to update voter records from various sources.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
