Job summary

Pinal County is seeking an Elections Department leader to plan, organize, and direct daily goals and initiatives. You will supervise staff handling candidate filing, campaign finance, polling places, and tabulation tasks, while ensuring accurate payroll, budgeting, and compliance with laws.

Strong policy development and communication skills are essential. This position requires integrity, confidentiality, and collaboration with many partners to deliver reliable election services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Four years of progressively responsible admin/elections experience.
• Must complete AZ Election Officer Certification.
• Must be eligible to vote in Arizona.
• Must pass background check.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct strategic and daily goals for the Elections Department.
• Oversee staff responsible for candidate filing, campaign finance, polling places, election warehouse, and poll worker payroll.
• Administer payroll, track leave balances, requisitions, expenditures and budget reconciliation.
• Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with election laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with federal/state governments, counties, and partners to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Assist with ballot creation and tabulation duties and related reviews.
• Plan staff training and promote accountability and teamwork.
• Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
