Job summary

ABB Inc. in Mebane, NC is seeking a Warehouse/Internal Logistics Supervisor to lead production line activities, optimize workflow, and ensure on-time delivery.

This role reports to the Warehouse/Internal Logistics Supervisor and requires hands-on leadership on the shop floor, coordinating staffing and equipment to meet targets and maintain safety.

You will develop lean processes, mentor shift teams, and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of 5S: sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and use lifting devices safely.
  • Must communicate in English (read/write).
  • Basic math and computer skills required.
  • Forklift operation training/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides feedback to management and recommends improvements for production lines.
  • Supports staffing adjustments due to vacations, illnesses, outages, or shifting needs.
  • Reinforces focus on production volume, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Assists with resource allocation, shift orders, and work plan execution across lines.
  • Serves as the shift leader and resolves technical, quality, and logistical issues.

This position reports to:

Warehouse/Internal Logistics Supervisor

The work model for the role is: Onsite, Mebane, NC

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Provides ongoing feedback to management and recommends improvements related to production line performance, organization, shifting priorities, and emerging critical issues.
  • Supports management in executing staffing adjustments due to vacations, illnesses, equipment outages, or shifting production needs.
  • Reinforces team focus on achieving production volume targets, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring ontime delivery.
  • Assists management and shift teams with resource allocation, coordination of shift orders, and oversight of work plan execution across production lines.
  • Serves as the shift leader, fostering collaboration and ensuring timely resolution of technical, quality, and logistical issues.
Qualifications for the role:
  • 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of 5S - sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain
  • Knowledge and use of necessary PPE
  • Ability to use cranes or other lifting devices, as needed
  • Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language
  • Basic computer skills to be able to look up parts.
  • Ability to maintain accurate hand-eye coordination and utilize both hands safely and efficiently.
  • Forklift operation required, including readiness to complete training on various forklift types.
  • Basic mathematical skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required
