Job summary

UnityPoint Health's PACE program is seeking a Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for participants to appointments and program activities, including wheelchair transport and mobility assistance. Under supervision of the PACE Transportation/Facility Manager, you will follow routes, maintain vehicle safety, and support the care team, delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, related experience preferred, and a valid driver's license with

Qualifications

• High School graduate/GED required, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year of experience working with the frail or elderly population preferred.
• At least 6 months experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs preferred.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable transportation for PACE participants to appointments and program activities.
• Assist participants with mobility needs, including wheelchair transport, ambulation, transfers, and home access.
• Monitor participant well-being and respond to health changes or emergencies.
• Follow schedules, safety procedures, and traffic laws while working with the care team.
• Maintain vehicles in safe, clean, and ready-to-operate condition through inspections and fueling.
