Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of experience with the elderly, and 1 year in an Elderly Recreation Program or completion of the Activities Director’s Basic Course.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of experience working with the elderly.
• At least 1 year experience in Elderly Recreation Program or completion of the Activities Director’s Basic Course.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the activity component of the resident assessment within state-required timeframes.
• Identifies resident activity interests and documents them in care plans; updates every 3 months or as conditions change.
• Leads the activity program on weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Performs in-service education and attends activity-related sessions.
• Plans, schedules and conducts in-room activities for residents unable to leave their rooms.
