Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking Household Assistants to support our Small House neighborhoods. Responsibilities include meal planning with dietary considerations, food prep and serving, laundry, cleaning, and ensuring a safe, respectful environment for up to a dozen elders.

Join a family-like team dedicated to dignity and person-centered care. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour with opportunities for growth based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience or comfort caring for elders.
• Ability to plan meals with dietary considerations.
• Experience with light housekeeping and laundry.

Responsibilities

• Help plan appropriate meals according to dietary needs/preferences/medical issues.
• Seek input from elders with meal planning and preparation.
• Prep ingredients; prepare and serve meals and snacks.
• Set up table and serve meals.
• Ensure safety and freshness of food; record food temperatures.
• Inventory and stock supplies.
• Clean rooms, floors, equipment, and kitchen.
• Manage laundry and help elders with clothes storage.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and staff.
• Answer phone and communicate with family as needed.
• Participate in team meetings to set house standards and resolve conflicts.
• Record appliance temperatures in logs.
• Respond to inquiries and work as a team.
