Job summary

Otterbein is seeking compassionate Household Assistants to support elders in a small, home-like setting. The role covers cooking, laundry and housekeeping, with shifts 8am–4:30pm and opportunities for full-time or part-time work (every other weekend). Starting pay is $15.00 per hour, with a supportive team culture and resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Experience with elders and/or cooking for a group is preferred.
• No certification required.
• Must be of legal working age for a high school student.

Responsibilities

• Plan meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
• Involve elders in meal planning and preparation.
• Prep ingredients, cook and serve meals and snacks.
• Set up tables and ensure food safety and temperature records.
• Inventory supplies and maintain a clean kitchen and living environment.
• Assist with laundry and organize clothing spaces.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents and documentation.
• Answer phone and participate in team meetings.
