This position is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented paralegal who is passionate about advocating for vulnerable clients and has substantial experience handling complex medical malpractice and elder abuse litigation matters. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial.

Position Summary

The Elder Abuse & Medical Malpractice Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys in managing complex litigation matters involving nursing home negligence, assisted living facility abuse, hospital negligence, wrongful death, neglect, pressure injuries, falls, medication errors, physician negligence, and other healthcare-related claims.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience reviewing and organizing medical records, preparing discovery, coordinating experts, and supporting trial preparation in high-value litigation matters.

Medical Record & Case Management

• Obtain, organize, review, and summarize extensive medical records
• Prepare detailed medical chronologies and treatment summaries
• Analyze hospital, nursing home, assisted living, and physician records
• Identify key liability, causation, and damages issues within medical records
• Coordinate record collection from healthcare providers and facilities
• Manage case files and maintain litigation deadlines

Litigation Support

• Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, meet-and-confer correspondence, and legal documents
• Assist attorneys with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
• Prepare exhibit binders, witness files, and trial notebooks
• Coordinate service of process and court filings
• Prepare hearing and mediation materials
• Track discovery deadlines and ensure timely compliance

Expert & Medical Provider Coordination

• Coordinate with medical experts, nursing experts, life care planners, and economists
• Schedule expert reviews, depositions, and consultations
• Compile records and supporting documentation for expert review
• Assist in preparing expert disclosure packages

Client Communication

• Maintain regular communication with clients and families
• Gather case updates, supporting documentation, and treatment information
• Provide compassionate and professional client service throughout the litigation process
