Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 2 years of higher education required.
• Teaching or teaching assistant experience preferred.
• Experience working with children or young adults is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides introductory, supportive and/or supplemental instruction in English language skills under the direction of the ELD teacher.
• Confers regularly with the classroom teacher to share student progress and to plan for future needs.
• Works with the classroom teacher to provide ESL students with accommodations and modifications to the regular classroom curricula.
• Helps train new ELD personnel in daily responsibilities.
• Works with students on preparation of special assignments, projects, tests and finals.
• Helps administer classroom or district-level tests.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
