Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks an English Language Development (ELD) instructor to plan and provide ELD instruction for students identified as eligible for ELD services.

The role requires collaboration with principals, counselors, teachers, and other staff to address EML students' needs and to explain the ELD program to parents, supporting students’ adjustment to MCPS's academic and cultural environment.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of second language teaching/learning methods and techniques.
• Fluency in another language preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan for and provide English language development (ELD) instruction for eligible students.
• Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers and other staff about EM L students and their needs.
• Explain the ELD instructional program to parents; serve as a resource for information on EML and language differences.
• Support students in adjusting to the academic and cultural environment within MCPS.
