Job summary

TechDigital Group in Bothell, WA, is seeking a senior Java/Elasticsearch engineer to design and maintain data ingestion pipelines into Elasticsearch 9.x, optimize index and query design for performance and scale, and help shape the platform architecture.

You will own Elasticsearch-related stories from grooming through delivery, write and tune SQL against relational sources, and support production releases with monitoring, triage, and rapid issue resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based data ingestion pipelines into Elasticsearch 9.x
• Own index and query design decisions, optimizing for performance and scale
• Take Elasticsearch-related stories from grooming through delivery, working independently
• Write and tune complex SQL against relational data sources feeding the platform
• Support production releases, including deployment validation and post-release monitoring
• Triage and resolve production and non-production tickets
• Contribute to story grooming, estimation, and technical design discussions

Required qualifications:

• Extensive hands‑on Elasticsearch experience, including index design and cluster fundamentals
• Strong command of core Elasticsearch concepts: index templates, aliases, shards and replicas, analyzers, and cluster architecture
• Proven experience writing and optimizing complex Query DSL
• Experience building production data ingestion pipelines in Java, preferably with the Elasticsearch Java API Client
• Proficiency in Java 21 and Spring Boot in a microservices architecture
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, and performance tuning
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and drive technical decisions with limited supervision
• Experience supporting production systems and release cycles
