Job summary

Harmony Science Academy - Fort Worth Middle (3-6) seeks a dedicated educator to support ELAR and ESL students in small-group settings. The role involves planning targeted lessons, delivering language acquisition instruction, and collaborating with the ELAR teacher to tailor instruction based on formative data.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree and ideally possess a Texas Teacher certificate and ESL/Bilingual certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum two years of experience supporting K-2 ELAR and/or ESL classrooms (preferred).
• Texas Teacher certificate appropriate for level and subject area of assignment (preferred).
• ESL/Bilingual certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.
• Creates a small-group environment conducive to learning using research-based best practices.
• Plans small group lessons to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Provides second language acquisition instruction and progress reports to Emergent bilingual students/English learners.
• Develops instructional scaffolds based on text complexity and formative assessment.
• Analyzes assessment data to plan and adjust lesson preparation and instruction for small groups.
• Evaluates student work against criteria to identify trends and plan next steps.
• Maintains records as required by law and district policy.
• Communicates with students, parents, and staff to support education-related goals.
