Job description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a full-time content editor to join our curriculum team. In this role, you will edit English Language Arts content for grammar, usage, style, tone, and factual accuracy, collaborating with curriculum designers to produce perfectly polished educational materials. #LI-FA1

This is a full-time remote position for candidates in the United States. #LI-REMOTE

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Review content to ensure that it is factually accurate
• Revise content for grammar, usage, clarity, and cohesion
• Ensure that content is level-appropriate for the target audience
• Ensure that content is meeting its intended educational objectives
• Ensure that content has an informative, engaging, and on-brand tone
• Align content to the Chicago Manual of Style and IXL's internal style guides
• Advise team members on style questions and maintain internal style guides

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in English or a related field
• 3+ years of professional editing experience
• Professional experience working with K-12 educational content
• Understanding of K-12 students’ reading and knowledge levels
• Deep knowledge of English grammar and usage
• Superior writing and editing skills
• Familiarity working with the Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guides
• Ability to adjust to in-house style guidelines
• Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously
