Acceleration Academies is seeking an ELA Content Coach to serve as the primary instructional resource for Graduation Candidates, delivering competency-based content and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success.

You’ll work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support, empowering each learner’s journey. Requires SC 6-12 English certification and 2+ years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• South Carolina 6-12 English certification required.
• 2+ years of high school teaching experience preferred.
• Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Enrollment support: recruit and engage new Graduation Candidates; develop Personalized Learning Plans.
• Retention: advise GCs, maintain communication with learners and support team; monitor attendance and progress.

The Role

As a ELA Content Coach, you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our Graduation Candidates (GCs), delivering competency-based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post‑secondary success. You’ll work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social‑emotional, and career‑oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey.

Key Responsibilities

Enrollment

• Support new GC enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts
• Assist with the development of Personalized Learning Plans for GCs

Retention

• Serve as an advisor for assigned GCs by maintaining communication with learners and their support team
• Monitor attendance, academic progress, and overall wellness to ensure consistent engagement and achievement

Academics

• Plan and deliver content‑area instruction in both individual and small group settings
• Monitor GC academic progress toward course completion and mastery using formative and summative assessments
• Analyze and use academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes
• Provide remediation and enrichment opportunities to address learning gaps and accelerate success
• Participate in professional development, data meetings, and school/community events

Advocacy

• Collaborate with the GC support team to develop personalized learning pathways, transition strategies, and incentive plans
• Represent the academy in community events and contribute to academy‑wide initiatives
• Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the academy’s mission

What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred

Licensure: South Carolina 6-12 secondary certification in English (REQUIRED)

Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred)

Skills: Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills

Passion: A deep commitment to helping at‑risk youth succeed academically and personally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in non‑traditional or at‑risk youth settings
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
• Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and alternative education models
• Experience with competency‑based learning, instructional coaching, or project‑based education
• Strong comfort with educational technology tools and platforms
