Job summary

Acceleration Academies, LLC in Florida seeks an ELAContent Coach (ELA Teacher) to deliver competency-based English instruction and guide Graduation Candidates toward diploma and postsecondary success. You will collaborate with a team to provide academic, social-emotional, and career-oriented support in a student-centered setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Florida 6-12 English certification, a bachelor’s degree, and a passion for coaching at‑risk youth; strong communication and planning skills

  • Experience coaching and supporting at‑risk youth encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Provide small-group instruction across English and literacy courses.
  • Progress monitor and support course completion with CER metrics.
  • Maintain regular communication with families about student progress.
  • Support district/state test preparation and attendance monitoring.
  • Attend weekly team huddles to discuss progress and social-emotional growth.
  • Implement intervention plans including reading/writing workshops.
  • Provide remediation and enrichment to address learning gaps.

The Role

As an ELAContent Coach (ELA Teacher), you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our Graduation Candidates (GCs), delivering competency‑based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post‑secondary success. You’ll work with a collaborative team to provide academic, social‑emotional, and career‑oriented support that empowers each learner’s journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide small‑group instruction across multiple English and literacy courses
  • Progress monitor and support course completion, with CER metrics aligned to network goals
  • Maintain consistent student and family communication, including progress monitoring for at‑risk learners
  • Support district and state test preparation
  • Monitor student online and onsite participation
  • Attend weekly team huddles to discuss student progress and social‑emotional growth
  • Implement the district‑wide intervention plan (progress learning), including reading intervention and writing workshops
  • Provide remediation and enrichment to address learning gaps and accelerate success
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the academy's mission
Retention
  • Serve as an advisor for assigned GCs by maintaining communication with learners and their support team
  • Monitor attendance, academic progress, and overall wellness to ensure consistent engagement and achievement
  • Plan and deliver content‑area instruction in both individual and small group settings
  • Monitor GC academic progress toward course completion and mastery using formative and summative assessments
  • Analyze and use academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes
  • Provide remediation and enrichment opportunities to address learning gaps and accelerate success
  • Participate in professional development, data meetings, and school/community events
Advocacy
  • Collaborate with the GC support team to develop personalized learning pathways, transition strategies, and incentive plans
  • Represent the academy in community events and contribute to academy‑wide initiatives
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the academy’s mission
What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
Licensure: Florida 6-12 secondary certification in English (REQUIRED)
Experience: Open to all experience levels; candidates with a passion for instructional coaching and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
Skills: Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills
Passion: A deep commitment to helping at‑risk youth succeed academically and personally

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with IEP/504 students
  • ESOL experience
  • Exposure to students who have been involved with the juvenile justice system
  • Familiarity with G Suite and Focus
  • Experience in non‑traditional or at‑risk youth settings
