Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an English Learner (EL) Teacher to provide instructional leadership and support for identified English Learners. Under moderate supervision, you will develop lesson plans, monitor student progress, and lead school-wide LIEP implementation to ensure all learners meet performance goals.

The role emphasizes adherence to state standards, collaboration with families, PLC participation, and data-driven planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to laws, policies and procedures.
• Plan and implement EL program of study.
• Instruct students individually and in groups.
• Maintain records for IEPs and 504 Plans.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress.
• Prepare, administer and grade tests and assignments.
• Attend PLC and staff meetings for planning.
