Job summary

The El Rancho Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep all hotel systems running smoothly and safely in Williston, ND. You’ll perform hands-on maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other equipment to ensure guest comfort and safety, with opportunities to fix, upgrade and uphold high standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent, hotel maintenance experience, and relevant trade licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Trade license in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry desirable.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance across plumbing, HVAC, electrical and other systems.
• Repair guest rooms and common areas, including carpentry and painting.
• Handle safety and compliance following OSHA guidelines.
• Respond to equipment failures and emergencies to ensure guest safety.

KEY SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical & Preventive Maintenance Powerhouse: Take charge of daily inspections, repairs, and fine‑tuning across our hotel’s plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other systems—catching small issues before they become big ones. Perform preventive maintenance in guest rooms, common spaces, and on essential equipment (from refrigerators to ice machines), keeping everything running smoothly for an exceptional guest experience. Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to ensure our hotel remains both beautiful and fully operational.
• Quick-Fix Hero: Jump into action to solve equipment hiccups, leaks, and those mysterious electrical issues—no problem too puzzling! Tackle emergencies like fire alarms and power outages with cool confidence, always putting guest safety front and center.
• Safety Superpowers: Move objects over 50 lbs., scale ladders, and power through physically demanding tasks with strength and stamina. Follow OSHA safety guidelines when wielding tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery—safety first, always! Keep work areas spotless and safe, with proper storage for tools and hazardous materials to protect everyone.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
