Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an EKG technician to provide direct patient care through 12‑lead EKG testing, educate patients on procedures, and maintain accurate records in a fast‑paced clinical setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. CCT certification is preferred to enhance expertise in cardiac testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• CCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, instruct, and educate patients on the EKG procedure.
• Perform diagnostic 12 lead EKG tests.
• Document and maintain patient records.
• Prepare work area and maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Adapt communication and approach to patient population with privacy in mind.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
