Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Red Bank, NJ seeks a Cardiac Technician to support trained cardiology attendings during all procedures, including stress testing, Holter monitoring, and ECG. The role requires completion of a cardiac technical program and relevant courses, with strong communication and computer skills.

Qualified candidates will have a GED or high school diploma, and familiarity with cardiac disease and arrhythmias. AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a cardiac technical program or equivalent.
• Completion of cardiac arrhythmia course within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of cardiac arrhythmia course.
• Basic understanding of cardiac disease and arrhythmias.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite).
• 1 year of prior experience in non-invasive cardiac procedures (preferred).

The Cardiac Technician assists a trained, credentialed cardiology attending during all procedures. He/she is responsible for accurately performing the following procedures: all forms of stress testing, Holter application and removal, Holter scanning and ECG.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Graduate of a cardiac technical program or equivalent.
• Satisfactory completion of cardiac arrythmia course within 90 days of hire.
• Satisfactory completion of cardiac arrhythmia course.
• Basic understanding of cardiac disease and advanced understanding of arrhythmias.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• 1 year of prior experience in non-invasive cardiac procedures.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification.
