Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking an EKG Technician to operate and troubleshoot equipment in the EKG lab, prepare patients, and apply holter monitors, ensuring accurate data collection for patient care and outcomes. You will restock supplies, assist with bi-weekly and monthly data, respond to stat orders, and provide weekend and holiday coverage.

Education: high school diploma required; medical training preferred. Licensure: BLS Health Care Provider.

Qualifications

• Six months patient care experience in a hospital.
• Six months experience performing EKGs (preferred).
• High School Diploma required; medical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot EKG lab equipment.
• Prepare patients and apply holter monitors.
• Restock supplies and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Assist with compiling bi-weekly and monthly data.
• Respond to stat orders.
• Perform routine EKGs and related tests (with/without magnet).
• Provide weekend and holiday coverage.
• Handle clerical processing of EKGs.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• *Demonstrates proficiency in operating and trouble-shooting equipment used in the EKG lab.
• *Prep patients and apply holter monitors.
• Restocks work area with necessary supplies. Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly to promote patient safety.
• Assists with compiling bi-weekly and monthly data.
• *Respond to stat orders as received.
• *Demonstrates proficiency in performing routine EKGs, Signal Averaged EKGs, Rhythm Strips, and EKGs
• with and without the magnet.
• *Provides coverage for weekends and holidays.
• Executes departmental procedure for clerical processing of EKGs.

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

Required - Six months experience in patient care in a hospital

Preferred - Six Months Experience Performing EKGs

EDUCATION

Required - High School Diploma

Preferred - High School Diploma, Medical Training

LICENSURE:

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
