Job summary

CJW Medical Center in Richmond, VA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Telemetry unit. The role involves direct patient care, leadership in educational activities, and adherence to quality standards.

You will document care, participate in on-call schedules, and support departmental initiatives. Requirements include BSN preferred, Virginia license or compact, ACLS and BLS within 30 days, and at least two years of telemetry experience.

Qualifications

  • Telemetry experience in a high-volume unit.
  • Current RN license in Virginia or a compact state.
  • ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • BLS/CPR must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Two years telemetry experience andCC course completion required.

Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Responsible for clinical management of the patient.
  • Functions as a Registered Nurse by role - modeling professional behavior.
  • Assures satisfaction of customers (patients, visitors, physicians and staff).
  • Participates and understands Quality Management activities.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrates understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Promotes cost effective unit operations.
  • Documents nursing care utilizing the appropriate tools.
  • Maintains competencies in clinical areas and is responsible for professional growth and development.
  • Complies with professional, regulatory, governmental and departmental standards.
  • Operates diagnostic imaging system.
  • Restocks and cleans work area.
  • Provide leadership in educational activities, departmental committees, research projects and other health-related projects. Provide evaluation, direction and guidance in the proper selection, use, care and control of material resources. Appraise quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and collaborate with appropriate departments to assist with vendor selection and feedback on performance.
  • Guide the professional growth of others across the continuum of care through role modeling, coaching and/or mentoring. This may include designing orientation modules, primary precepting of senior nursing. students. Provide leadership at a departmental, entity, community or regional/national level for initiatives focused on improving the quality of care for populations of patients and growth of others.
  • Participates in unit on-call schedule.
  • Lead role in monitoring Pharmacy Accudose Narcotic Inventory counts in all procedure rooms.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Required: Two years of telemetry experience in a high volume unit and successful completion of critical care course class.
