Job summary

The MedElite Group is seeking a reliable EKG Technician to join our team in New York. You will perform electrocardiograms and related cardiac testing in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, supporting early detection and management of cardiovascular conditions in geriatric patients.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, placing electrodes, operating EKG equipment, and collaborating with clinicians.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an EKG Technician training program preferred.
  • EKG Technician certification (CET or equivalent) preferred.
  • Prior experience performing EKGs strongly preferred.
  • Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
  • Comfortable working with the geriatric population.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort.
  • Properly place electrodes and operate EKG equipment according to established protocols.

  • Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and timely submission of test results.
  • Maintain and clean equipment in compliance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff.
  • Travel to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities as assigned.
