Job summary

MedElite is seeking an EKG Technician to perform electrocardiograms and related tests in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The role supports early cardiovascular issue detection in a geriatric population.

You will work closely with clinical teams, travel to assigned facilities, and contribute to accurate patient testing and documentation while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an EKG Technician training program preferred.
• EKG Technician certification (CET or equivalent) preferred.
• Prior experience performing EKGs strongly preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
• Comfortable working with the geriatric population.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs, rhythm strips, and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring comfort.
• Properly place electrodes and operate EKG equipment according to established protocols.
• Monitor patients during testing and report abnormal findings to the supervising clinician.
• Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and timely submission of test results.
• Maintain and clean equipment in compliance with safety and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff.
• Travel to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities as assigned.
