Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an EKG Tech to perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs) and support cardiac diagnostics within our facility. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, and operate EKG machines to obtain accurate readings while ensuring patient comfort.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Six (6) months of healthcare experience.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or completion of related course within 6 months of hire.

• Performs computer assisted EKGs.
• Edits EKG reports.
• Retrieves equipment and supplies for testing.
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation.
• Reports alterations in patient condition to the RT or physician.
• Performs other clerical duties as needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EKG Tech, you will perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs) to assess cardiac function.

Every day you will prepare patients, explain procedures, and accurately operate EKG machines to record heart activity, ensuring comfort and high-quality readings.

To be successful, you must demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous data collection, and excellent patient communication, contributing to accurate cardiac diagnostics.

• Performs computer assisted EKG's
• Edits EKG reports
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies for patient diagnostic testing
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation
• Reports observed or reported alterations in the patient's condition to the RT or physician
• Performs other clerical duties as needed

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - (AHA BLS)
• Six (6) months experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic computer literacy and proficiency
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology or successful completion of medical terminology course within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred

• Acute care experience with Electronic Medical Record or Cerner experience
