CommonSpirit Health's Glendale Memorial Hospital is seeking an EKG Tech to perform diagnostic electrocardiograms and monitor heart activity. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, and operate EKG machines to record readings with comfort and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as an EKG Technician with standard 3-channel 12-lead EKGs, Holter tests, and treadmill tests.
  • Experience with Dual Isotope nuclear stress tests and tilt-table testing preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs) and record heart activity.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EKG Tech, you will perform diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs) to assess cardiac function.


Every day you will prepare patients, explain procedures, and accurately operate EKG machines to record heart activity, ensuring comfort and high-quality readings.


To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, meticulous data collection, and excellent patient communication, contributing to accurate cardiac diagnostics.



  • Demonstrates adherence to the Standards of Conduct Requirements. Completes and turns in the SOC acknowledgement card.Fulfills compliance education requirements as directed by the Compliance Department or Department Manager.

  • Meets the requirements in all necessary systems including centralized scheduling and hospital information systems computer.

  • Meets annual competency requirements prior to evaluation date, including incorporating defined age specific requirements as applicable.

  • Receives physician's written request for electrocardiographic procedures and generates order per departmental procedure.

  • Is responsible for performing electrocardiographic procedures with consideration on various age range like newborn (neonates), pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics and females of child bearing age. Is responsible for performing electrocardiographic procedures and coping with consideration on patients of all ethnic, socioeconomic, cultural and educational backgrounds.

  • Ensures proper patient identification before performing prescribed procedure.


Job Requirements

Required



  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Minimum one year experience as an EKG Technician conducting a standard three channel 12 lead EKG, two and three channel holter monitor test, three channel holter scanning, treadmill exercise test.

  • Dual Isotope nuclear stress test, pharmacologic stress testing and tilt table testing experience

  • Basic Life Support - CPR

  • Some college desired

  • Minimum one year experience in cardiovascular or electrocardiology transcription using a transcribing machine
