Job summary

Pape-Dawson is expanding into Knoxville, TN, inviting an EIT III to help shape a brand-new office. You will support land development projects, collaborate with project managers, clients and agencies, and provide guidance to junior staff within an entrepreneurial environment.

The role focuses on planning, design, analysis, and delivery under a licensed engineer’s guidance, with office-based work and occasional field visits to support project objectives.

Qualifications

• Ability to apply established engineering principles to moderately complex assignments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with engineering software and tools.
• Willingness to work in an office setting with periodic field visits.
• Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design deliverables for land development projects (grading, drainage, utilities).
• Analyze site constraints and evaluate design alternatives to meet objectives and codes.
• Develop permitting materials and coordinate responses for approvals.
• Perform planning, design and analysis with applicable codes and regulations.
• Prepare calculations, memos, drawings and cost estimates with clear decisions.
• Mentor junior staff and support project quality and delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to support delivery.
• Support quality control and assurance practices to ensure accuracy.
