Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers seeks an Engineer-in-Training III (EIT III) for our Franklin, TN or Nashville, TN offices. You will collaborate with licensed civil engineers, landscape architects, and surveyors to support land development projects in public and private sectors.

Focus on applying engineering principles to design infrastructure for site development. The role involves preparing plans and reports, coordinating with clients and agencies, and supporting permitting and compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• EIT/EI certification or reciprocity preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office required.
• Familiarity with land development engineering practices and permitting processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Flexible to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of project plans, specifications, and cost estimates for land development projects.
• Analyze design options including grading, drainage, alignments, and right-of-way constraints.
• Identify major design features and ensure compliance with project goals and regulations.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create construction documents and layouts.
• Prepare technical reports and engineering studies per company standards.
• Direct and review work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and agencies for permitting and coordination.
