Job summary

AE2S seeks an Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) in Rapid City, SD to work under supervision of project management and engineers. You will develop skills in report prep, design, plans and specifications, construction observation, and administration, with emphasis on personal/career growth.

Responsibilities include construction observation, plan development, site design for municipal projects, survey fieldwork, and technical report prep, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• FE Certification (Fundamentals in Engineering)
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to travel as required
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding (background check, drug screen, MVR)

Responsibilities

• Perform construction observation and administration on water and municipal projects.
• Assist Project Manager with plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Assist design of private development site design, grading, streets, water/sewer infrastructure, municipal facilities.
• Assist surveyors with field work for data gathering or staking.
• Assist in preparation of technical reports.
• Occasional travel to off-site locations with possible overnight stays.
