Job summary

Benjamin Moore is seeking an EHSS Manager to develop, implement, and manage environmental, health, safety, and security programs at the Newark, NJ facility. The role drives continuous improvement, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes sustainability goals.

The position is on-site with typical hours 6 AM-3 PM, 7 AM-4 PM, or 8 AM-5 PM EST. Reporting to the Director, EHSS, the role requires leadership of audits, risk assessments, and training programs while collaborating with corporate EHSS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred (CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH, LEED).
• Minimum of 5-10 years of safety, environmental, engineering or related experience in manufacturing, distribution and/or R&D center.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHSS policies and regulations (OSHA, EPA, DEP, NFPA).
• Interpret regulatory requirements and communicate obligations to site leadership.
• Manage inspections, audits, and agency interactions with timely corrective actions.
• Develop and improve EHSS policies, programs, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive actions to reduce risk.
• Support changes and new equipment installations to include EHSS requirements.
• Lead EHSS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Foster safety culture through committees and cross-functional collaboration.
• Lead investigations and perform root-cause analyses for incidents.
• Maintain EHSS records and reporting platforms.
