Job summary

Blue Origin in Florida seeks an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to implement and oversee safety programs across the site. You will handle hazardous waste, inspections, and incident investigations while promoting a culture of safety and inclusion.

The role requires technical expertise, leadership, and dedication to safe human spaceflight, with flexibility to support weekly and off-shift tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• 3–5 years of industry experience preferred.
• Complete RCRA and DOT training within six months of hire for hazardous waste handling.
• Willing to obtain forklift and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
• Able to pass a background check to obtain required clearances.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste including consolidation, labeling, inspection, and shipment coordination.
• Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections (stormwater, SPCC, wastewater, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations).
• Participate in monthly safety walks and safety committee meetings; follow up on corrective actions.
• Collect and enter data into EHS software modules.
• Serve as a resource to work groups for EHS questions or issues.
• Assist in incident investigations and follow-up actions as required.
• Support development and review of Job Hazard Analyses.
• Perform health and safety audits as required.
