Job summary

MACOM in San Diego is seeking a Senior Assembler to support the build of electronic components and Hybrid assemblies in a clean room environment. You will operate manual and semi-automatic equipment and run automated equipment for epoxy attach and wire bonding, working with MMICs, capacitors, inductors, substrates, and other micro components.

The role requires hands-on experience with die bonding, wire bonding, scanning acoustic microscopy, and device sealing, plus the ability to read prototype

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience operating die bonding, wire bonding, scanning acoustic microscope, and device sealing equipment.
• Ability to follow assembly drawings and travelers.
• Experience using microscopes to inspect products and ensure quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and semiautomatic equipment for all processes listed.
• Run automated equipment for epoxy attach and wire bonding.
• Work with hybrid technology including MMICs, capacitors, inductors, substrates, and other micro components.
• Read and follow prototype and released drawings and process documents; suggest improvements.
• Train new personnel on all processes as required.
• Collaborate with engineers on new product development and ensure traceability.

Must have experience with a broad range of assembly processes including epoxy die attach, eutectic solder attach, wire bonding, gap welding, pull testing and rework capability. Work will be performed in a clean room environment and support both engineering and production. Work with automated equipment is a plus.**Responsibilities:**• Operate, including setup, both manual and semiautomatic equipment for all mentioned processes.• Run automated equipment for both component epoxy attach and wire bonding.• Work with hybrid technology including MMICs, capacitors, inductors, substrates, and other micro components.• Read and work to both prototype and released assembly drawings and process documents. Make recommendations for changes to improve build processes.• Work closely with a team of engineers on new product development.• Perform inventory operations including kitting, traceability, and material review.• Train new personnel on all processes as required.• Perform other duties as required and assigned.**Qualifications:**• High school diploma or equivalent.• Hands on experience operating die bonding, wire bonding, scanning acoustic microscope, and device sealing equipment.• Must be able to follow travelers and work instructions as well as under basics of assembly drawings.• Experience using microscopes to inspect products and ensure highest standard of quality.• Excellent hands-on cleanroom skills and demonstrated ability to carry out defined tasks independently with minimum supervision.• Computer skill with experience using MS Office programs as well as manufacturing execution systems for lot tracking.• Ability to work as part of a larger team.• Fluent in written English.• Motivated and willing to work hard to help the department and company reach objectives on time.• May require a flexible schedule to provide coverage during off hours.**EEO:**MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
