Job summary

ORANGE COUNTY HEAD START, INC. is seeking a Teacher Assistant II - EHS to support the EHS Teacher in fostering a nurturing environment for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old.

The role emphasizes health, safety, and development while building responsive caregiver relationships. The position requires assistance with planning, documentation, parent conferences and collaborative classroom activities within the Head Start framework.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or 12 ECE units with infant/toddler specialization.
• Experience: Some related experience.
• Language Skills: English fluency; Spanish or Vietnamese may be required.
• Must have a valid California Driver License and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist EHS Teacher to plan and implement learning experiences for infants and toddlers.
• Form partnerships with parents through ongoing communication at greeting and departure times.
• Develop individual lesson plans and goals for each child’s development per Head Start standards.
• Document child progress with observations, samples, photos and parent input in the required assessments.
• Provide safe, healthy supervision and assist with daily care routines.
