Job summary

Orange County Head Start - Child Care is seeking an Assistant to the EHS Teacher to support a nurturing environment promoting health and safety for infants and toddlers. You will assist with planning, assessments, and parent communications under guidance.

Responsibilities include daily routines, documentation, home visits, and collaboration with families to set development goals across cognitive, social, and physical domains.

Qualifications

• Education: CDA Teacher Permit or 12+ ECE units with infant/toddler focus.
• Experience: Some related experience.
• Knowledge: Head Start Performance Standards and child development.
• Language: English fluency; Spanish/Vietnamese may be required.
• Other: Valid California driver license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist EHS Teacher in promoting health, safety and development of infants and toddlers.
• Support planning, instruction, home visits and parent conferences.
• Document child progress with observations and samples for assessments.
• Assist with routines: diapering, toileting, feeding, and self-care.
• Engage children one-on-one, in small groups and in large group settings.
• Communicate with parents to set goals and participate in engagement activities.
