Responsibilities

  • Supervise work crews and coordinate materials and equipment for each project.
  • Communicate with foremen to ensure workflow, quality and safety.
  • Ensure safety of personnel and identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Inspect work quality and ensure adherence to quality plans.
  • Review design and schedule to balance cost, time, quality and aesthetics.
  • Record field operations data and payroll time entry.
  • Schedule and arrange equipment needed for the work area.
  • May perform hands-on tasks such as welding and operating heavy equipment.
  • Report accidents to safety department promptly.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Understand and execute drawings.
  • Lay out and install miscellaneous metals (stairs, handrails).

Job description

The Detail Foreman has the function of supervising work crews and coordinating their materials and equipment requirements for each assigned project. Thrives in a fast-pace environment and works to complete assignments in a quickly and efficient manner. Highly knowledgeable in Structural Ironwork, duration for 6-7 months.

Position Details:

Duration: 10 months

Pay Range: $33-$36

Working: 5 10's

Plus Per-Diem: $ 550 + Travel Pay

  • 120-hour bonus payout after 5 years
Site Requirement:
  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass Background Check.

Required Skills

  • Participate in an employee’s annual performance evaluation and give direct one on one feedback and coaching to team members about their skills and performance. Set clear performance goals/expectations for team and each member.

  • Communicate and coordinate with other Foreman at the job site to ensure optimal work flow/Quality and safety.

  • Responsible for the safety of LPR personnel assigned to him/her. Identify, notify of and resolve any risks that are inherent in the construction of the project striving for proactive and intentional leadership in zero injury safety culture.

  • Responsible for the quality of the work done by her/his crew by adhering to LPR Quality plans and designs to meet or exceed the quality control plan.

  • Maintaining efficient construction review of design to identify optimum balance between schedule, cost, quality, function and aesthetics. Participate in implementing effective schedule changes.

  • Thorough, timely and effective input of data that relates field operations into project files, logs, records including payroll time entry.

  • Planning, coordinating and scheduling equipment needed for work area of responsibility.

  • Foreman may perform labor in completing crew tasks i.e. welding, installing bolts, layout, unload trucks, operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, etc.

  • Report all accidents to the GF and Safety Dept. within one hour after necessary EMS steps have been taken to care for injured worker, or secure job site for continued safety.

  • Establish and maintain positive, long-term relationships with customers.

  • Ability to understand and execute drawings.

  • Laying out and installing of misc. metals - Stairs, Handrails and other misc. metals

Required Experience

  • Structural Steel 5-7+ years' experience in craft supervising
  • Flexible schedule to work additional hours including weekends.
  • Must have experience reading blueprints.
  • NCCER Ironworker Plus Certification preferred. However, not required.
  • OSHA 30 Certified preferred. However, not required.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and goal-oriented individual with leadership skills
