Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Scientist, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) based in Boston, MA. Lead complex EHS programs, deliver due diligence for transactions, and advise clients on strategy and risk with a global perspective.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, environmental science, safety, or related field.
• 5+ years in EHS compliance, management systems, and permitting advisory services.
• Strong technical expertise in environmental or safety disciplines (air quality, stormwater, SPCC, hazardous waste).
• Proven project management skills with budgets and timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to mentor staff.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically.
• Not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS compliance audits and corrective actions across client operations.
• Manage complex due diligence projects per ASTM Phase I and global protocols.
• Oversee multiple projects end-to-end within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Collaborate with project teams and global networks to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Develop and implement EHS management systems and regulatory programs.
• Provide on-site support and advise clients on EHS risks and opportunities.
• Prepare concise reports on liabilities, compliance, and operational risks.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team.
• Align EHS strategies with regulatory requirements and client objectives.
