Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. seeks an EHS Specialist to drive continuous improvement of safety, health and environmental initiatives at the Claxton site. You will implement the EHS Playbook, align site activities with enterprise strategies, and monitor leading and lagging indicators to quickly address sub-standard performance.

You will educate and mentor teams, support emergency planning, and partner with site leadership to maintain regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with 3 years of EHS or related experience, OR 5 years of experience.
• EHS responsibility with emphasis on environmental, health and safety programs.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other EHS regulations.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and investigations.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Reports to EHS Manager with matrixed regional oversight.
• Support development and deployment of site EHS goals to reduce risks.
• Learn and use Valmont’s EHS information system for data management.
• Assist in risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Facilitate site Safety Committees and training programs.
