Job summary

Valmont in Estill, South Carolina is seeking an EHS Specialist to advance safety, health, and environmental programs at the site. You will report to the EHS Manager and Regional Safety Manager, drive risk assessments, manage incident data, and ensure compliance with global EHS standards.

Responsibilities include leading safety teams, conducting investigations, delivering training, and coordinating with regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the EHS Manager and Regional Safety Manager; no direct or indirect reports.
• Creates annual site EHS targets to measurably reduce health, safety, and environmental risks.
• Manages EHS data in the site information system for injuries, workers’ comp, near misses, and inspections.
• Leads risk assessment to recognize, evaluate, and control hazards.
• Implements global EHS standards including Hazardous Energy Control/Lockout, Confined Space Entry and Waste Storage.
• Leads deployment of EHS teams and drives continuous improvement.
• Leads incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Develops and maintains training processes for EHS content and tracking.
• Collects data for reporting and regulatory permit submittals.
• Serves as initial contact with national/local environmental, health and safety agencies.
• Completes the Valmont EHS Specialist curriculum within three months of hire.
• Daily engagement with floor employees to foster a safety program.
• Conducts EHS training and committee meetings.
• Records data for safety contacts and hazard identifications.
• Collects data for environmental regulatory requirements.
• Manages waste storage area records, tracking, and disposal.
