Job summary

AAR Corp is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe workplace. The role involves risk assessments, program development, audits, and collaboration with management, employees, and regulators.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years in EHS, training in Hazardous Waste, OSHA, and RCRA, and bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience (3 years+)
• Experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or willingness to learn; knowledge of federal and state regulations
• Formal and recurrent training in Hazardous Waste Management, OSHA compliance, and RCRA issues

Responsibilities

• Represent the company during internal and external safety/environmental audits
• Develop and maintain safety and environmental programs; ensure compliance with standards
• Investigate accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Conduct safety and environmental training
• Manage workers' compensation claims and maintain records
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and secure required permits
• Lead safety committees and coordinate safety efforts across teams
• Develop contingency plans for emergencies and oversee hazardous materials
