Job summary

Tarkett is seeking an EHS Specialist in Dalton, GA to develop and maintain an environmental health and safety program that meets regulatory requirements and ensures a safe workplace. You will report to the site EHS Manager and support a multi-shift manufacturing operation.

The role requires 2+ years in safety and industrial hygiene in manufacturing, with strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations, and bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Safety and Industrial Hygiene in a manufacturing environment.
• Associates Degree in Safety, Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA (ADEM) regulations.
• Knowledge of Tier II and FORM R reporting, Air permitting, and hazardous waste management.
• Knowledge of workers compensation law.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, including technical writing.
• Strong interpersonal and presentations skills; ability to interact at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety program.
• Ensure compliance with Safe Work Practices (SWP), regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA) and plant policies.
• Conduct training, assessments, audits, and investigations as part of World Class Manufacturing.
• Assist with ISO 14001 / 18001 EHS requirements and audit process.
• Deliver safety training to small and large audiences, hourly and salaried.
• Provide EHS orientation to new and temporary associates.
• Assist in training and compliance for contractor/vendor personnel on EHS policies.
• Perform and trend behavioral-safety observations; analyze data and identify corrective actions.
