Job summary

FITS, a service provider on the island and in the US, seeks a Health, Safety and Environmental specialist to embed environmental responsibilities into line management and operations. You will guide environmental controls, enforce regulations, and coordinate with contractors and communities to manage risks.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, incident prevention, and collaboration with teams to deliver high-quality safety outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or five years of exposure in Industrial and Construction projects within the regulated industry.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Shift: First (Monday–Friday) and according to business needs.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification (General Industry or Construction).
  • Experience in Construction Projects within the regulated industry; Daily Permit; Reporting; JHA, Rigging Plan; Toolbox meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure environmental issues are an integral part of line management responsibilities and objectives.
  • Ensure workplace procedures comply with local environmental regulations and international standards.
  • Assist the operational line and supervise environmental objectives.
  • Communicate environmental issues to contractors and communities.
  • Identify environmental risks in each area and work center.
  • Maintain plans, programs and procedures per the environmental standard.
  • Verify compliance with preventive measures, mitigation, and restoration in the environmental authorization.
  • Oversee waste management systems in all operations and work centers, including contractors.

  • 30hrs. OSHA Certification (General Industry or Construction)
  • Experience in:
    • Construction Projects within the regulated industry

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL:
