Job summary

Toledo Tool & Die seeks an EHS Specialist to strengthen safety, environmental stewardship, and health programs across its Toledo-area locations. You will collaborate with the EHS manager and site leaders to implement sustainable, compliant practices while driving continuous improvement.

The role requires knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI standards, plus strong communication and training abilities. This full-time position is based in Maumee, Ohio, with growth opportunities and a safe work

Responsibilities

• Support collecting daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for onsite management reporting.
• Conduct risk assessments and suggest risk mitigation via Job Safety Analysis.
• Recommend and implement risk mitigation ideas including ergonomics.
• Train managers and employees to fulfill safety/compliance responsibilities.
• Perform inspections/audits and ensure corrective actions are tracked.

Position Summary
The EHS Specialist will support compliance, employee engagement, and vision of employee safety, environmental stewardship, and health at the Toledo Tool & Die Toledo-area locations. This role will work directly with the EHS manager and site management to implement sustainable practices that ensure employee safety and compliance. The candidate is knowledgeable within OSHA, EPA, and ANSI standards with the ability to clearly communicate and relate to all employees within the organization. They have leadership skills to drive continuous improvement within the programs and drive completion of multiple projects and tasks at hand.

Essential Job Functions

• Support collecting daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and reporting systems.
• Conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed by employees and suggests risk mitigation strategies through the Job Safety Analysis process.
• Recommending and implementing appropriate risk mitigation ideas and programs, including ergonomics.
• Training and assisting others (managers, employees, etc.) to complete their safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, follow safety rules, etc.).
• Conducting appropriate inspections and audits, and ensuring corrective actions are monitored and documented.
• Enforcing compliance with EHS programs at designated facilities
• Completing, documenting, and submitting required EHS monthly permit related information for compliance.
• Conducting EHS training as needed.
• Responding to and investigating events including injuries and near-miss events. Drive closure of effective corrective / preventive actions, as assigned.
• Providing managers with regulatory information and direction to ensure compliance with external / internal audits and Federal, State, Local EHS regulations.
• Conducting environmental compliance site audits of non-hazardous waste, NPDES, as assigned.
• Preparing environmental compliance reports and permits.
• Respond to emergency situations when they arise.
• Ability to multi-task between sites and specific projects as needed.
• Perform other duties, as assigned, in support of the EHS Plan.
  

Requirements

Education & Experience

• 2+ years EHS Industry experience preferred.
• Minimum 4-year degree in science or related field.
