Job summary

Process Technology is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead environmental, health, and safety programs across our manufacturing locations. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Partner with EHSS Program Manager to implement environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Conduct facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments; document findings and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; track corrective actions.
  • Participate in machine safety assessments and hazard identification.
  • Support chemical management, SDS review, and emergency preparedness programs.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs.
  • Maintain regulatory records, permits, and training documentation.
  • Travel between facilities to provide onsite EHS support.

The EHS Specialist reports to the EHSS Program Manager and supports multiple manufacturing locations. This role partners with operations, engineering, and facilities to maintain regulatory compliance while fostering a proactive safety culture. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing compliance activities with hands-on support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To


  • Partner with the EHSS Program Manager and site leadership to implement environmental, health, and safety programs that meet federal, state, local, and company requirements while reducing operational risk and strengthening EHS performance.

  • Conduct routine facility inspections, compliance audits, and risk assessments; document findings, identify opportunities for improvement, and work with site personnel to implement corrective actions.

  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking to reduce recurrence and improve operational performance.

  • Participate in machine safety assessments, hazard identification, and implementation of engineering and administrative controls for manufacturing operations, including machining, assembly, and testing.

  • Support industrial hygiene initiatives, including exposure assessments, PPE selection, ventilation evaluations, and other occupational health programs as needed.

  • Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS), evaluate chemical hazards, support new chemical approvals, and maintain the electronic chemical management system.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs.

  • Maintain site-specific emergency preparedness programs, including Emergency Action Plans, emergency response equipment, drills, and first aid resources.

  • Support environmental compliance activities, including hazardous waste management, air permitting, wastewater compliance, and regulatory reporting.

  • Maintain accurate EHS records, permits, training documentation, inspection reports, and compliance files.

  • Travel between company facilities as needed to provide onsite EHS support.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements


  • Bachelor\'s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience supporting EHS programs within a manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities independently while collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization and maintaining positive working relationships with team members, leadership, regulatory agencies, and external partners.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%.


Compensation

This position is full-time, salary, exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
